Monkeypox and Stigma: A Patient’s Perspective

At 1pm on Thursday, August 11, the Connecticut Department of Public Health will host a Virtual Meeting to present on the stigma affiliated with having Monkeypox. Information being presented will consist of: The Patient’s Personal Experiences Dealing with the Virus; Ways to Promote Non-Stigmatizing Messaging; Questions & Answers. Panelist: Johnny Rivera is a Connecticut resident and learned he was positive with Monkeypox on July 15, 2022. The Connecticut Department of Public Health saw Johnny on Facebook encouraging awareness and education and is very grateful he volunteered to share his lived experiences in dealing with the Monkeypox virus.
